We are delighted to share that WWIN is the beneficiary of a $25,000 gift from Sound Credit Union (Sound) as a part of the organization’s annual employee auction. This meaningful donation reflects a growing relationship based on shared values, particularly the commitment to strengthening communities in Washington state. In addition to this gift, Sound has sponsored several of WWIN’s signature events.
Jen Reed, Vice President of Public Relations at Sound, says, “Our team was thrilled to learn more about WWIN this year and to hear that we’ve decided to support women who face barriers paying for college. We aim to be a champion for the communities we serve. WWIN is perfectly aligned with our mission as a financial institution to connect people with the tools and resources needed to manage their finances and reduce stress as they work to achieve their goals and dreams.”
Sound employees have generously supported and volunteered with WWIN in a variety of ways since 2021. Some have served as volunteer Star Scholarship application reviewers, helping to select the next cohort of Scholars. “I’ve personally had the opportunity to call some of the winners and let them know they’ve received the Star Scholarship,” says Jen. “You can hear the excitement, pride and joy in their voices. Making a difference in someone’s life is priceless.”
As Deb Frockt, our Executive Director, says, “We are thrilled to have Sound as a partner dedicated to women’s success. Each time we support a woman who is working toward her own self-determined goals, we create a more stable and sustainable future for all of Washington.”
Thank you, Sound, for this thoughtful gift and for your continued engagement with WWIN.
