Expanding and enhancing WWIN’s Career Launch program in 2022-23

Jul 26, 2022

WWIN’s Career Launch program began in July 2019, offering Star Scholars who were within one year of graduation an $1,800 grant to cover 18 one-on-one, personalized sessions with a certified coach to help prepare them for a successful transition into their new careers.

Career Launch has shown remarkable success to date. Participants have reported increased confidence and improved skills in job searching, creating a resume and LinkedIn profile, interviewing, and negotiating a job offer, as well as crucial skills such as professional and personal goal-setting and navigating work and family responsibilities.

This year, WWIN launched a focused research project to evaluate the Career Launch program and assess the needs of current Star Scholars as well as our alumnae. As a result, we are pleased to introduce the following exciting changes to the program, which took effect on July 1:

  • Introducing Career Vision, a new, short-term coaching option: Current WWIN Star Scholars may now access two individual coaching sessions to develop career readiness or explore career pathways as part of their Star Scholarships.
  • Expanding Career Launch access to more Scholars and GranteesCareer Launch is now open to all past WWIN Scholars and Education Grantees.
  • Introducing renewable six-session packages for greater flexibility: All WWIN alumnae or current Scholars who have less than 1 year remaining until graduation may now access six coaching sessions, renewable up to two times (for a maximum of 18 sessions).

By opening the program to more women and enhancing its flexibility, WWIN aims to help more women develop vital job skills, build their confidence, and, ultimately, achieve economic stability and career success.
