The Grant Made All The Difference In The World!

Apr 28, 2015

The news that Enjolia had been awarded a grant from WWIN could not have come at a better time.  She had managed to complete one year of school but had reached the end of her rope – she was out of money.

“I was trying to study for my classes, and to raise my kid right.  I was couch surfing and was juggling where I was going to eat, and sleep and do my homework.  But the only way I could stop the cycle of poverty that I was born into was to graduate, get a good job and pull my child out of that too.  I wanted a better future so my son has a stepping stone, not a stumbling block.”

Thanks in part to your generosity, Enjolia received a grant to continue her education.  “The grant made all the difference in the world!” she says.  “The money allowed me to qualify to get into a home and to finish the last year of nursing school.”

And thanks to your generosity Enjolia achieved her dream and became the very first person in her family to graduate from college.  “After the education grant I was so happy.  Everything got better.  My confidence level just changed.  I made the President’s List.  My clinical scores were super high.”

Today, Enjolia says, “I’ve accepted a job at the UofW Medical Center as a staff nurse.  I’ve qualified to buy a house now.  I am ecstatic, I can’t believe it!”

“Thank you for believing in me and allowing me to believe in myself.  Thank you for changing what history is going to look like for me and my family.  Nobody else in my family will have to grow up like I grew up.  Thank you so much.

Your gift helped Enjolia graduate.  You helped her break the cycle of poverty and change her and her son’s future.  Thank you!
