Executive Director Update 2019

Aug 23, 2019

Dear friends of WWIN,

This year was one of the most meaningful for me since being with WWIN the last 8 years!  We launched our strategic plan this spring with a new vision and mission for the organization, and with it new opportunities for us to lift up the women of Washington to achieve economic stability.

WWIN has always strived to provide women with opportunities, inspiration, support and advocacy as they work towards the achievement of their goals.  As the graphic below illustrates, our program strategies are designed around supporting a woman to define her own pathway and goals, to complete her education, to connect with a career that she is passionate about and that can sustain her financially, and to be able to advocate for herself and others.  Learn more about our strategic plan in the video on our website, and visit the page “What We Do” to read about our new programs.

As always, it was an honor to celebrate the successes of the women of WWIN at our Inspiring Women Luncheon and Sip for Stars! events this year, where we had the opportunity to share their powerful stories with you, our WWIN community.  Of course, none of this would be possible without the generous support of our amazing donors and sponsors.  We are grateful to our Table Captains, Board members, and Emeritus Council members who remain engaged with us throughout the year.  Their belief in the women of WWIN and ongoing commitment has made a direct and lasting impact on the lives of thousands of women.

Above all, we are so proud of the 268 women we had the pleasure of supporting this year.  These women truly inspire us every day!  Despite the unique challenges facing each of them, they show us again and again that they have the perseverance and determination to make their dreams come true.  Forty-seven of our education grant recipients graduated this summer from 15 different colleges and universities across the state.  We are so incredibly proud of the women of WWIN!

We are filled with gratitude for another great year at WWIN!  We have big goals for fiscal year 2020.  Should you have a desire to get more involved with WWIN, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Thank you for your continued support of the women of WWIN,

Michelle Nitz, WWIN Executive Director
