Inspiring Women annual fundraiser goes virtual
This year instead of gathering around the table for our Inspiring Women luncheon, we’re finding a new way to come together. We’re bringing our biggest annual fundraiser online instead.
Throughout the month of March, you’ll be inspired by our Star Scholars as they share their stories of resiliency and what they’ve overcome in life and in the past year. Join us in celebrating the strength and courage of Washington women and learn more about how you can support their success.
What’s your TEDx talk?
We’ve all struggled through a challenge and gained unique wisdom along the way. But so often fear prevents us from openly sharing our stories even when others could learn from our experiences.
Erin Loman Jeck—CEO of Transformational Speakers Agency and executive and TEDx speaking coach—can help.
Join us February 10, 2021 at 4 p.m. PST as Erin discusses why it’s so important to tell your stories and how to gain the courage to tell them with confidence.
This event is free, but space is limited, so reserve your spot quickly!
Teaching during a pandemic: Nikki’s blessing in disguise
For Nikki, student teaching during one of the strangest times in history has been a blessing in disguise.
She graduated in December 2020 with her B.A. in Elementary Education, finishing her degree and teaching certification while her own three kids were home learning remotely. It was challenging, but she took each day as it came and pushed through, even if it meant little sleep.
Nikki considers herself fortunate to start her teaching career with actual classroom experience, working in one of the only schools in her district providing in-person learning.
“Knowing that many teachers are unable to be at school with their students made me appreciate that opportunity and not take it for granted. As crazy as it was, I feel beyond blessed for how it all worked out now!”
She’s grateful for the support she received as a WWIN Star Scholar and excited to pay it forward.
“I really can’t thank you enough at WWIN for keeping the financial stress low throughout these years. I’m looking forward to life being a bit “normal” again and using what I’ve learned to help others. That is the end goal, to use my time generously for helping others now.”
