Maria’s path to wellness

Maria was physically unwell. After several doctor visits she finally received her diagnosis: stress. Caring for her children while in an abusive relationship was taking a toll on her body.

As Maria started her journey back to wellness she began dreaming of becoming a registered dietitian. She left her relationship and moved to Washington to attend Seattle Pacific University. However, with a full class load and three kids, she couldn’t work the full time job that would be necessary to cover their living expenses. A Scholarship from WWIN helped Maria not only pay for her tuition and books, but provide a safe home for her family until she was finished with school and could work full time.

Now Maria’s health is flourishing and she gets outdoors whenever possible, finding rejuvenation on the trails of the Pacific Northwest as she looks ahead toward an internship and a master’s degree.

If you have a dream or something you want to be, you’ve got to be able to do it. WWIN can be that next step.

There’s still time: Give the gift of a bright future

This year has challenged us in unimaginable ways. Your donation makes a tremendous difference in the lives of women by providing each of our WWIN Star Scholars:

  • A scholarship of $5,000 per year or $20,000 during the course of her undergraduate studies.
  • Up to $2,000 of Resiliency funding to cover unanticipated expenses that may disrupt her educational path.
  • The ability to work one-on-one with a Career Launch coach to successfully enter and navigate her chosen profession.

As you plan year-end giving, we hope you’ll consider a one-time gift today or extend your giving throughout the new year with a monthly pledge. Thank you for your ongoing generosity and compassion that provides women the lift they need to create a secure and stable future for themselves and their families.
