A sneak peek at our 54 new education grantees!

Jan 26, 2016

We are so happy to share the great news that we have just selected 54 amazing women to receive WWIN education grants!

Over 315 women submitted applications in October, making this one of our most competitive grant cycles ever. The decision-making process was difficult, but the 54 women chosen to receive funding truly exemplify WWIN’s vision, mission, and values.

Our new grantees are from all across the state and range in age from 19 to 58. Their majors run the gamut, from Ecology to Occupational Therapy to Pre-Law to Nursing. More than sixty percent are the first in their families to go to college and almost half are mothers. For those who are already attending classes, their average GPA is an impressive 3.5. Twenty of the 54 have received grant funding in the past for either education or health care.

Each new grantee will receive funding of up to $5,000 to use towards tuition, mandatory fees, and required books and supplies during the 2016 academic terms.

Please join us in welcoming this wonderful group of women into the WWIN community! And stay tuned for their inspirational stories in the coming months…
