“I grew up in the shadow of the third runway at SeaTac International Airport, where the roar of the airplanes is constant. Living with chronic noise has made me deeply aware of the impact technology and industry have on people, animals, and the environment.
I want to serve as a “bridge” between progress and preservation, creating technological advancement while protecting communities, wildlife, and the environment. At Gonzaga University, where I will earn a degree in mechanical engineering, I plan to develop the skills to design solutions that buffer noise and energy impacts, especially in neighborhoods like the one where I grew up that are more vulnerable and less represented in decision-making.
I am so grateful for the support and encouragement of the WWIN community!”
