A Gift That Is Creating Change!

May 16, 2014

The chance meeting at a local Starbucks with Bob Guild, of Robinswood Financial provides the opportunity for charitable gifts to keep giving.
In 1987 an organization named Help-A-Life, was formed by the Seattle Association of Life Underwriters, whose mission was to assist women and children in need in the Seattle area. They supported needy women and children throughout the Seattle region through such community services as a Teddy-Bear Patrol, college scholarships for low-income youth, and by providing an annual gourmet Christmas dinner and gift giving for low-income families at the St. James Cathedral in Seattle.
As needs changed for the families they once assisted, Help-A-Life dissolved itself as a 501(c)(3). Rather than hastily giving their remaining account balance away to another non-profit, Bob Guild made the decision to honor their history of excellent financial stewardship, and choose an organization that best aligned with the mission and values of Help-A-Life. Fast forward 6 years to a chance meeting with a mutual friend, where Bob became aware of the work of WWIN. Upon hearing of the transformative change our grantees are experiencing through Education and Health Care grants, Bob decided to learn more about WWIN at its Spring Benefit Luncheon in Bellevue.
We are pleased to announce that on May 6th, Bob visited us at the WWIN office, bringing a huge smile and a very generous gift of support! The remaining balance from the good work at Help-a-Life is now helping women through WWIN achieve their dreams of financial sustainability and wellness.
Thank you Bob, and Help-a-life, for your vision and community stewardship. We are grateful indeed for your thoughtfulness and trust. Your gift is creating a legacy of change for generations!
