Education Grant Application

We are not currently accepting applications for the WWIN Education Grant.

Our next application cycle will be from April 1 to April 30, 2017.

About the Education Grant Program

WWIN offers Education Grants to assist with the costs of higher education.

General Education Grantees receive up to $5,000 over a one-year period to pay for tuition, mandatory fees, and required books and supplies at the approved Washington college or university of their choice.

WWIN Star Scholar Education Grantees are selected among our grantees who are in their first year of a two-year academic program and their first or second year of a four-year academic program. Star Scholars receive up to $5,000 each year of their college careers, up to $20,000 over four years.

Eligibility Criteria

WWIN selects grantees who are ready for transformational life change. Our grantees are determined and driven and have a deep desire to build a better future for themselves and their families. They’re prepared to work towards a college degree, sparking positive change for themselves, their families, and their communities for generations to come.

In addition to being ready to transform their lives, applicants must meet all of the below eligibility criteria and submit all required documentation to be considered.

  • You must be female
  • You must be 18 years of age or older
  • You must have resided in Washington for the past 12 months
  • You must be a United States citizen or permanent resident, or a refugee or asylee to the United States
  • Your annual household income must be less than or equal to the below:

In addition, Education Grant applicants must also meet the following criteria before applying:

  • You must be admitted into or registered at an approved, accredited Washington college or university
  • You must be pursuing your vocational or technical certification, Associate’s, or first Bachelor’s degree
  • You must have completed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) before applying
  • You must have outstanding need for funding for tuition, fees, books, and/or supplies in the upcoming academic terms

During their grant period, Education Grantees must:

  • Maintain a 2.5 GPA or greater each term.
  • Provide grades, registration, and any revised educational or financial information to WWIN each term.
  • Participate as an active partner with WWIN! This includes staying in regular communication with us and participating in activities and events as requested and as you are able.

In addition to being ready to transform their lives, applicants must meet all of WWIN’s eligibility criteria and submit all required documentation to be considered.

Our Grantees are selected by a competitive grant selection process. This means that our reviewers read through each and every application to select Grantees who best align with WWIN’s vision, mission, and values. Our reviewers focus primarily on answers to the essay questions about you and the future you want to create for yourself – so please be as thoughtful, honest, and thorough as possible when completing the application.

Completing the Online Application

Applicants must complete WWIN’s online application form to be considered for the Education Grant. No emailed, faxed, or mailed application forms will be considered.

You should have your FAFSA Student Aid Report (SAR) and your financial aid award letter available when completing the online form. If you don’t have a copy of your Student Aid Report, visit www.fafsa.ed.gov to login to your student portal and download a copy. If you don’t have a financial aid award letter for the upcoming academic term, contact your college to ask for one.

After you submit the online application, you’ll be asked to email, fax, or mail a copy of your SAR to WWIN.
